Avondale Zeus seeking a hat-trick in the 20th Owner?s Bonus Series ? Heat 2
The second heat of the Grade A2 20th Owner?s Bonus Series will be held over 483 metres flat at Doncaster on Saturday, 18th August. The ?90 prize money will be contested by Slippy Tricks, Shaheen Express, Fameisfleeting, Avondale Zeus, Mandalin Wind and Dunham Dancer.
The most accomplished entry for the race today is the three-year-old, Avondale Zeus. His first success of the season was in a 483 metres race at Doncaster on 23rd March, 2012. The three-year-old raced through the track distance in 30.75 seconds and led by 2 ? lengths.
Tricky Rocks followed in as the runner-up.
After striking second twice, the K. Hewkin trained won the Grade A3 483 metres flat on 13th April, 2012 at Doncaster over 483 metres. Not giving up the lead from the middle and then racing towards the wide had the race settled in 30.82 seconds. He won by the margin of 4 ? lengths and defeated Woodsgift Bound.
After remaining unsuccessful in the four races that followed, Si Senor?s son landed the Grade A3 483 metres flat on 25th May, 2012 at Doncaster over 483 metres. The collective favourite set into an early pace, led from the fourth position and raced from the middle to settle the race in 30.86 seconds.
Following the closest behind the winner was, Vatican Thor, who made it to the other end of the wire in 31.02 seconds.
Coming at terms with the third position was, Dunham Mojito.
After losing two races to fourth position, the three-year-old struck a back-to-back.
The black hound won a 483 metres race at Doncaster on 3rd August, 2012. He led from the first position and then from a second spot concluding the race in 30.30 seconds and led by just half a length.
Avondale Zeus then won the Grade A3 483 metres flat race on 10th August, 2012 at Doncaster. Taking the middle he led the race track and then went wide taking 30.22 seconds to settle the race. Leading by five lengths that Broomwell Comet was set as the runner-up.
Making provision for the third position was, Angry Tom.
Winning today will entitle him to a hat-trick. ?
