Huff talks about the attempt to eliminate Enterprise Zones in California

Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) outlines actions in the State Senate to eliminate the California Enterprise Zone Program in his Capitol Comment for the Week of June 24th, 2013.

Senator Huff, who voted against the elimination of Enterprise Zones, says the change in state law is an indirect attack on California?s minority communities. Created in 1984, Enterprise Zones were often located in California?s poorest communities, offering jobs and opportunities to Californians who needed them the most.

Senator Huff fears a migration of jobs and businesses to more affluent coastal areas, now that money from the former Enterprise Zone program has been shifted into hiring credits and sales and use tax exemptions, which are now available to businesses in all areas.

Senator Huff serves as the Senate Republican Leader and represents the 29th Senate District covering portions of Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties, Follow Senator Huff on Twitter @bobhuff99. Visit Senator Huff?s webpage at www.sen.ca.gov/huff.

That?s it for this week! Questions? Comments? I?m a phone call or email away?
