This was filmed Saturday June 6, 2009 at the Fleetwood Country Cruize in London, Ontario i guess i was correct, this is a 1940, as the ?39 has a different grille, along with different headlights, and of course the ?40 Fords have that classic Chevron taillights that the ?39 did not have, also 1940 marked the year for sealed beams on the Fords, as well as hydraulic top on the convertibles, now in 1941 Ford would change its style and design again, and Ford would have a one year only for the ?41 year, Ford would go to a different style for ?42 then of course civilian production ended due to WW2, and war time Ford cars are actually quite rare considering the amount that where built considering Jeeps and big trucks where more valuable, thus they got produced in larger numbers than cars, also 1939 marked the year Ford switched from mechanical brakes to hydraulic brakes, something many automakers did in the early 1920s, the reason Ford never switched to hydraulics was not only based on cost (17 years was how long a patent was protected) thus the 1921 Duesenberg had all around hydraulic brakes, 1921+17 years= 1938, thus 1938 was the last year for mechanical brakes at Ford, thus they avoided paying out for patents from other brake companies, also i believe Henry Ford believed mechanical brakes where more safe, than hydraulic brakes, thus Ford waited till 1939 to adapt hydraulic brakes, Henry Ford really wanted to keep things simple, and just wanted his vehicles to work with out ?
